a Bob Seger tale

a Bob Seger tale

2011-02-07 by Charles

Back around 1973 I was in an Ohio band called Stargate and had gotten my M400 the year before and we had worked up tons of tron tunes (including COURT OF THE CRIMSON KING & some originals). We got booked to open for Bob Seger at a club near Lake Erie (SURF PLACE) and did all of our proggier material. Bob sat there watching us from the side of the stage the whole time. He came up to me after and said "Man, that Mellotron sounded incredible!" Next time I heard him a few years later, his band had gotten one! (used on TURN THE PAGE for instance)
I only tell you this because I just heard that tune on the radio in my truck....

I thought he used a Chamberlin on that tune.
