There should be no delay when you play your 'tron. Over adjustment of
everything creates this awful characteristic!

I am also a fan of Robert Wyatt, I think he only used the mellotron on the
first Matching Mole album. His tron playing is interesting, I wouldn't say
that he is technically a great keyboard player, he was I think a much
better drummer.

I think anyone who is a very good piano player is not likely to be that
interested in the mellotron because of it's limitations.

Often the people who played mellotron on the albums of 60's and 70's
weren't primarily keyboard players.

Woolly Wolstenholme my favourite mellotron player was largely self taught
and and I don't think he was a great piano player.

I would be intrigued to know what Oscar Peterson did with his mellotrons,
does anybody know of any recordings?

Mark

PS My piano tuner always complains about the delay when he plays my tron
but I don't notice it. I wonder if I ever become a good piano player I will
lose interest in the tron. Fat chance of that!
