The hard part wouldn't be fixing/restoring it, it would be finding the damn thing six years on in a land fill.  Nigh impossible, if you ask me.

Following up on the story. I sent him the link to that M-1 on ebay right now. He says that's the kind he had. I'm asking myself if something six years in a dump is really beyond salvage? ... ah well.
