Check out the newsletters at http://ganssle.com/tem-back.htm, they
have embedded job postings.

This is not a personal slam, and this message wasn't directed at me,
but I have always resisted giving my current salary to prospective
employers. It's fine to ask questions like: are you willing to
reloacte, and this type of thing.

In my opinion the salary question should only come up after a
particular job has been discussed. I need to know the cost of living
in the city in question, and I need to know how enjoyable the work may
be before I'm willing to discuss any numbers. If you are willing to
delegate a lot of decisions to me, and you want me to work with the
best tools, and your projects are cutting edge and exciting, I may
agree to make less money in order to get that kind of job!

From the company's perspective, they need to know my exact skillset,
and how I can benefit their company before they make me a specific offer.

Again, I'm not attacking you because I know this type of info is
commonly requested "up front". But my current salary does NOT tell you
how much I expect to make in an entirely different situation. And
that's what you really want to know, right?

Eric
