Of course while many options such as a MAC and different memory
configs are simply a question of different blocks, other options such
as 1.8V regulators and possibly RTC's may be influenced by the
physical characteristics of the semiconductor process used to build
the chip (I note that the process is apparently not a fully static one).

It would be nice however if the chip could be designed to work with a
companion device (possibly one of those allready on the marker) which
would provide voltage regulation, reset, brownout and power down in a
single component solution.
