Hi Erland.

I think what you need would be a Waves plugin called "Mondomod". I believe
it cames with the Native Gold Bundle or something like that, as I saw it
only once in a classroom. I remember that among other things, it simulated
that kind of artifacts: offcenter vinyls, etc...

Good Luck

Santi

Hi Santi,

I've had the Gold Bundle since late December. I don't think I've ever
even opened up an instance of Mondomod for some reason. I thought it
was another flanger. I can't believe that! Thanks a lot. I'm looking
forward to using it.

Hello!

I know you're sorted out now with the Waves plug-in, but I've had a
lot of success in the past degrading sounds by using the Logic Tape
Delay plug in. In the extended menu there are sliders to control
amount of flutter and speed thereof, and you could set the delay to
one beat, 100% wet and no feedback, add in the required flutter
(designed to simulate Copicat type tape echo machines) and voila! Of
course the downside would be that everything would be one beat late,
but it wouldn't be much work to advance the track by one beat to
compensate.

Or have I got completely the wrong end of the stick?

Best wishes

Ron

I hope you find the solution with that mondomod. Anyway, I'd like to know
truly if it does what you said, just curious.

Hey,

I was a little disappointed with the Mondomod. It sounds too clean to
simulate tape. I tried adding distortions/overdrives after it,
Logic's Overdrive plug-in and PSP Vintage Warmer. It still sounded too
digital and sterile. I'm still gonna check out the tape delay. I've
used the flutter parameter only with feedback.
