I haven't used the Ivory series from TL Audio, but I have used the C1 tube
compressor and the related tube EQ and can say that the build quality was
fine, the sound was great and the mic pres were also great. They are a
pretty reliable name, if that's anything to go by these days.

Their Fatman units are also worth a look, by all accounts - budget yes, but
interesting.

I would happily go for a mixture of Focusrite and TLA kit for outboard. I
have a MixMaster with excellent EQ and multiband compression, which I end up
using for all sorts of jobs apart from treating mixes - which it does very
well. Just treated some house tracks for someone, with filtered breaks whose
levels leapt about all over the place and which by filtering had lost a lot
of upper mids. I was able to restore some frequency balance and create a
more even feel with very little work.
