andy, >i notice in the bias advert you feature in that you're sporting a >rather unusual looking guitar, if you have a moment or two would >you mind telling me about it? i play (2 different, custom) TESLA model gtrs, made by ULLI TEUFFEL; one is glow-in-the-dark green, one is charcoal. the green one: birdseye maple (1-piece) neck, alder body. the charcoal one: birdseye maple neck, ebony fingerboard, alder body w/ash 'wedge' in the neck running from the body-join to the bridge. both instruments are: 'headless' 25.5 inch scale-length, w/gibson string-spacing and Steinberger TransTrem bridges. each has: a) 2 passive pickups, made by ulli teuffel: green: strat-type at neck, warm humbucker at bridge charcoal: p-90 type at neck, overwound humbucker at bridge b) 2 microphones, each w/an attendant momentary switch (and, microphone # 2 has a fixed toggle switch, as well): mic #1: face-mounted (visible) salt-shaker mic #2: internally-mounted under neck pickup (green gtr) and bridge pickup (charcoal gtr) c) one (normal guitar) output d) one input, w/an attendant momentary switch e) 1 volume and 1 tone control f) a momentary 60-cycle hum switch, w/an attendant momentary switch g) a momentary on/off switch h) pickup selector *all* the momentary switches are the 'wafer'-type (some split in half) that ulli has designed/integrated as flush-mounting in the guitar's faces. these two instruments sound very different from each other; both are *wonderful*, responsive..... and suitably wackassed..... i use them both w/logic, btw..... *-)) best, dt / splattercell see: http://www.teuffelguitars.de/instrumente/tesla/index_e.html
