Hi Alanx, thanks for your response. Patch recall is nice, but here are my two main concerns: 1) Is the basic sound quality of the VM3100 noticably worse than the Mackie? Will I regret it if it is my ONLY mixer? 2) I want my setup to be easy to just sit down and quickly lay some tracks down. Is the VM3100 going to make that difficult, or is it simple to use for simple stuff (plug my mic/guitar/bass in, hit record, and go)? -smeet
