Korg Poly800/EX800 Users

My poly 800 responds to all midi channels regardless of the one that
is specified in the parameters. is this the omni mode I hear about
sometimes? How do i turn it off?

This happens to mine everyonce in a while too.
usually if i scroll through all the midi channels,
then come back to the one i want, it will start
receiving on only the selected channel.

Yup, on powerup the poly is in omni and every time,
you have to set it to the channel on which you want it
to receive. That's the way it is....

I have a hunch that on some MK-1's that a firmware bug keeps omni on,
even after you set the channel. Mine refuses to leave omni unless it
recieves an omnioff command over midi - changing parameter 86 (recieve
channel) is supposed to switch it off but never does.
