Guitar strap peg replacement?

Guitar strap peg replacement?

2003-09-01 by mrstevieman

Howdy! I just bought a Poly800. I like the unit for its useable
sounds and easy interface for tweaking. The unit is missing the left
peg for guitar strap. Will I find a functional or original
replacement part? Is this a difficult job?

Thanks in advance for suggestions!

Steve

Moderately difficult.

Hi,
maybe a possibility:
search last messages in this forum (June?, July?); I think I remember one
guy selling two Polies, one defect, at e-bay. Contact him to ask for the one
who bought it.
Good luck,

Olaf

On my MK-I, it simply fits into slots. No screwing involved.
I am missing one peg - I've been thinking about carving one out of a hardwood.
Not everyone is handy with a pocketknife, though...

One possiblility is to take a normal guitar peg with the screw a that's long
enough to reach inside a case, and then find a matching nuts at a hardwood
store to wedge the screw tightly in the slot. Some epoxy might help as well.

i would take the one you have and search music stores(you never know what they might have kicking around in their
parts drawers) and thrift shops. check the toys, electronics and anything else you can think of that would have a
carrying strap. i don't have a poly anymore, just an ex, so i don't remember if the peg fits into slots in the top and
bottom casing where they meet or if it screws in. if it just screws in you could probably make any guitar strap peg
work with a drill and a vise and sandpaper. just remember to get the right screw for the existing hole and to slightly
oversize the hole in the peg. if the peg has to fit into slots, you're going to need a little more luck, but if you
find something that fits loosely, you could always shim it with a washer.

good luck,
