Weird Franken-Poly Mk II on eBay

Weird Franken-Poly Mk II on eBay

2012-12-13 by AARON

There's a strange reverse-key Poly-800 Mk II on eBay right now being offered by a Japanese seller.

It looks sort of like a Mk II, but it's strange for at least three reasons. One, I don't think they made a reverse-key Mk II. Two, the colors on the left side of the control panel don't match the ones on the right. And three, the body isn't black. It's gray like a Mk I.

Anybody know what this is? It looks like it's cobbled together from Mk I and Mk II parts. By the way, I've bought two synths from this seller, and I can tell you he's a real straight shooter. So I assume this is the way that he got the machine.

Here's the link to the auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/110989456430?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

Definitely cobbled together from a MK1 and a MK2.

I rather like it!

Ur right on all 3 counts. Ive owned a mark II and currently own a reverse key.
As its from Japan, i wonder if a worker in the factory put it together. Ive got friends who work at the local Hoshino (Ibanez) factory who've built hybrid guitars using parts from different models. I bought a beautiful Artwood acoustic model that was never available as an electric....
