HAWK-800 and VCF modulation

HAWK-800 and VCF modulation

2012-10-09 by tim.tashpulatov

Hello all,

Smee again, fiddling with VCF modulation. Looking at parameters, I can see the VCF Modulation Group making use of two arbitrary LFOs. There is also a Resonance Modulation Group, again using an LFO.

Does the VCF Modulation Group mean the filter's cut off control? and how does using 2 LFOs work for that?

Regards
Tim

Yes, VCF modulation group is for filter cut off.

Here's an example of using two LFO's with VCF cutoff.

Set up a patch as follows:

P1-41 to 20. VCF cut off set low.

P2-11 to 0. LFO1 slow.
P2-12 to 0. No delay on LFO1.
P2-13 to 1. LFO1 free running.

P2-21 to 8. LFO2 medium speed.
P2-12 to 0. No delay on LFO2.
P2-13 to 1. LFO2 free running.

P2-41 to 3. right hand sawtooth waveform
P2-42 to 1. use LFO1
P2-43 to 4. modulation level
P2-44 to 1. triangle waveform
P2-45 to 2. use LFO2
P2-46 to 3. modulation level

Now you will hear LFO1 (in sawtooth) slowly go from low to high VCF. But LFO2 will insert a small VCF "warble" as it also modules VCF faster.

Enjoy!

Mike
