What Midi Controller do you use with Hawk-800??

What Midi Controller do you use with Hawk-800??

I've been reading up on the Hawk800 mod and am curious if anyone has found a preferable midi controller to get inside the Korg 800's patch parameters on the fly after doing the mod.

I did find this one, by Korg, that is purely knobs, sliders and switches.. no keyboard.. but it looks like it'd be right at home over the parameter reference decal on the poly 800 keyboards.

unfortunately it does not have a direct midi out. You would have to hook up USB to a laptop/pc, then I assume come back out the PC via MIDI cable and into the Poly800.. kinda a pain in the butt vs. a MIDI controller that actually has a MIDI out on the back of it

I'm also curious if Mike might chime in about his Hawk800 mod's ability to do on the fly changes with a similar midi controller. Can I assign a controllers knobs to have instant access to say.. the VCF cutoff, resonance, LFO's (all four of them), depth of the LFO's..
Basically I'd like the ability to assign a knob, slider or switch to any parameter of my choosing.

I was trying to get the encoder ordeal going, but it may be easier to go with a midi controller instead.

funny you mentioned Behringer. I've had my eye on a few of their controllers. Mainly the cheaper keyboard ones like the umx25
That BCR2000 sure looks like a sweet controller, just the price is a little steep for my budget right now :(

That korg controller I posted is going for around $40 shipped on ebay.. dirt cheap for a controller... and there are other controllers on there with keys for about the same or a little more.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
