make sure that midi isnt echo-ing. I have seen my korg behave like this when my software is retransmitting the same not back to the keyboard milliseconds after I hit the note on the keyboard. The korg isnt very good at getting lots of midi data or notes too close together. You can even crash it by sending it too many notes too fast!
Try changing the midi echo on the korgs ports, or pulling one of the midi cables out.

Maybe there's inside some VR for setting the pitch...

I would check also power supply and measure its output voltages. I
remember when I've been using this instrument 25 years ago on
batteries during live concert with a rock band, total tuning was
changed slowly as batteries became weak, which I could compensate
with pitch pot, but it was not enough, so later I had to transpose
music... It learned me to use always new batteries and change them in
the middle of concert...

Maybe it's the mod depth control - does the wobblyness change when you
adjust the LFO speed? Probably not, because you'd have seen lots of
phantom MIDI events when you recorded the output.

Well, grab the workshop manual, a Philips screwdriver and a cup of tea.
You're going in...

Have a look around the slider for the tuning, and the connecting cables.
Dry joints are fairly uncommon in that area, but I wouldn't be
surprised. Really you need an analogue meter or better still an
oscilloscope to track down crackly intermittent pots. You could remove
the tuning slider and replace it with a pair of fixed resistors, to see
if that helps it.

Alan,

How did it go with your Poly pitch bend?

Had you transported Poly before she ended up with this behavior? Did she get thrown around a bit beforehand? Or was someone heavy handed with the bend slider pot or the joystick?

Does the VCF and DCO modulation axis still work?

Have you opened her up to have a look yet?

Mike.
