I think it also does blippy gritty basses pretty well. Like a meaner DX100.
Or my other favorite trick is to max the attack on the filter with a high reso and lo cutoff so you can hear it stair stepping its way through.
Lately I have been digging the sound of patches with only one stop turned on in both osc, andd some detune. Very atari 2600.
