2009-01-19 by korgpolyex800
Hi there HAWK-800 fans, I am happy to announce yet another firmware release (version 1.8). This release contains several important new features and performance improvements. Before upgrading your HAWK-800 equipped synth please read the release notes found at http://patrioticduo.tripod.com/hawk800/Release-Notes-v18.pdf Some important new features are: 1) Joystick parameter editing functions. 2) MIDI sustain controller support. 3) SYSEX bulk patch dump. 4) SYSEX bulk patch dump request. 5) Sequencer or MIDI clock driven random sample and hold waveform. And a major improvement is that, unlike the original Poly-800, the MIDI SYSEX implementation now does not interfere with the actual playing of the synth. You can play the synth without interruption while receiving MIDI SYSEX messages. Once you have read through the release notes you can proceed to upgrade the firmware. Go to http://patrioticduo.tripod.com/hawk800/techsupport.html to download the new firmware. All three firmware files must be downloaded and sent to your HAWK-800. The Owners Manual, MIDI Implementation chart and Parameter Quick Reference Guide documents have all been updated to include the descriptions and explanations of the new features. Also, the demonstration patch set MikesDemoPatchSet1.syx has been improved and expanded to better show off the HAWK-800 features. I will continue to improve the patch set and would be happy to include any special patches any of you might have developed using the HAWK-800 features. As always, I am here to help if anyone needs any assistance and look forward to hearing from all of you. Mike.
