Mark, Fool with the switches on the back and you'll see the messages stop. Sorry I can't remember the exact switch and whether it was on or off right now. I think i posted this a while back. Fran --- In korgpolyex@yahoogroups.com, "mark" <freqspec@...> wrote:

Because the joystick pot is worn and noisy, and there isn't much of a "dead band" in the middle. Mine does that too. Gordon

It's randomly broken in various groups. The only solution is to run a script that will hoover up all the posts from a given group, and convert them into some sort of searchable format. One problem with this is that Yahoo! Groups implements throttling so if you overdo it you'll find you can't access the Yahoo! Groups website for a few hours. If a bunch of people all took about 1000 posts each over a couple of days, we'd manage it. Gordon

=================
i've got one browser that the search is broken, one browser that can't
even log into yahoo-groups, and one browser that everything works fine.
all of the browsers are standards compliant; none of them are IE or
firefox.
yahoo has become the slum-lord of run-down & abandoned mailing lists. it
does seem that if they get a few complaints about the search function on a
particular list they can fix it. in the meantime, try different browsers.
there are *plenty* available for linux/bsd... but off the top of my head i
can only think of 2 for windoze.
