Korg Poly800/EX800 Users

Hello ...

I have recently gotten into composing synthpop, and I am looking for
patches on the Poly-800 (mk II) which are in the style of analog
percussion. I have been trying to move away from the Drum Machine in
my music production and more towards synthesized percussion. If you
have any patches I would appreciate it if you could share these with
me.

Also: I am open to any hints and suggestions insofar as programming
a good kick drum sound, ideally something close to a TR-808 kick, but
any kind of kick sound will do.

Drum machines are synthesized percussion ;) If you look around, a few of
them will provide excellent controllable sound. I use an Allen & Heath
Inpulse One from 1985, if you find one... then snap it up. They made
less than 100, though ;)

Anyway, have you checked out Sound on Sound? I don't know if they keep
all their articles online, because they sell PDF CDs, but they have had
a very comprehensive tutorial on programming drum sounds - mostly around
the SH-101 (so I enjoyed it), but the theory can be applied to pretty
much anything. The 808 kick and snare were featured a couple of months
ago IIRC.
