Ex-800 back from retirement

Ex-800 back from retirement

2002-03-19 by crlwind

Hi there,

Yesterday, I dug out my Ex-800 from the dungeon to see if it
still worked, and had a great time messing with it. Last time I used
it, the patches got zapped, and I think I moved on to my other gear.
I never had a manual, but except for figuring out how to record the
sequencer, it's a breeze to program. Simple is good! I forgot how
thick & juicy this thing can sound.

It's back in my set-up now, and I plan on using it more often.
Now that I see everyone is modding theirs, I'll think about it. Guess
I have some research to catch up on. Greetings to a new user
community.

The poly-800 and sysex

is there a way to backup patches to a computer and send patches to the
poly-800 via midi? I'm talking about sysex messages. I downloaded Midisoft
in the file section of this mailing list and it only loads .MID and .SNG
files. What can I do?
