Poly-800 Chorus problem

Poly-800 Chorus problem

2008-05-14 by saulius_pocevicius

Hi All,

as I mentioned in my previous message - I'm having Poly-800 Chorus
problem. When I turn the power on and quickly press the keys - I
really hear the chorus (stereo sound) for 1 or 2 seconds and then it's
gone - the sound is pure mono (completely centered and no modulation).
Changing the parameter #48 doesn't have any effect (still mono sound).

I will of course dig into this deeper (and post the details here), but
before doing this I'd like to hear your advice, maybe it's a common
issue and somebody already knows how to fix it.

So, do you have any thoughts on this?

Best, Saulius

Okay, nevermind, I already fixed this...

The problem was with unstable Chorus LFO oscillation. Not sure about
the exact reason, but I was able to find a quick workaround - adding
10M (yes, weird - it's quite large value) resistor in parallel to C44
completely solved the problem and LFO is stable now (and Chorus works).

So, my Poly-800 is ready for Hawk-800 :-).

Best, Saulius
