Two new global parameters

Two new global parameters

2008-02-29 by patrioticduo

I just implemented two new global parameters into the new software.

Global 35 has a value of 0 thru 6 and affects the keyboard MIDI note
transmit octave offset. 0=normal Poly keyboard, 1-3 is -1,-2,-3
octaves and 4,5,6 is up +1,+2,+3 octaves. Great for getting the Poly
to reach those hard to get notes above and below its four octave keyboard.

Global 36 has a value of 0 thru 63 and affects the keyboard MIDI note
transmit velocity value. Where 0 means a note on MIDI TX will have
velocity 64 (as per the original Poly 800) and 63 gives velocity send
of 127. This parameter gives you the ability to set the keyboard MIDI
transmit note velocity to any value between 63 and 127. So you're
going to be able to get the Poly 800 to send full velocity MIDI note
on events.

I'll soon add two additional parameters for the sequencer to provide
the same flexibility to it.

So that's another two handy features added into the software.

Mike.

Just curious, but why not a value of 0 to 127? Or does that require
extra code?
I like the idea of controlling a keyboard's volume by using a pedal
that changes note velocity, as opposed to changing MIDI volume (which
is 0-127, btw)

Great question!

To be honest, I lost interest somewhere around the third glass of Cabernet.

This weekend, I'll change it to allow velocity from 1-127 in two step increments so that the global parameter will be from 0-63 for a velocity setting of 1,3,5...127.

How would that be?

Your idea about a volume pedal is well taken and I have been tinkering with the idea for the aTomaHawk kit.
