poly 800 filter cut-off and resonance mods?

poly 800 filter cut-off and resonance mods?

2002-02-13 by ekdt1

we are trying to add a 100k audio taper pot to modify the filter cut-
off and resonance, we have the specs for the EX-800, but the poly 800
doesnt have the correct VR2 and VR5 circuits that we need to modify.
does anyone know what pots or circuits to replace on a poly 800 in
order to add a functioning filter cut off and resonance pot(s)?

Hi!

Necessary? Not really, of course.

The thing is:
The knobs are working in relationship with the stored cutoff and resonance
settings.
I you want to recall a sound you have to adjust the knobs the same way they
were when you saved it to get the same result.

Another thing:
If you forget that your resonance knob is on max and you suddenly choose a
patch with a high res value your ears or your loudspeakers may explode (at
least there would be some damage...).

Of course you can install your knobs in that way that the 12o'clock position
is the factory one.
But I prefer having this switch. (I've also 2 switches for write enabling of
sounds and seq - it's not necessary, but...).

It's up to you!

Greetings,

Olaf
