Problem with the moog filter mod.

Problem with the moog filter mod.

2006-05-18 by mahceenaleen

Now that i got back internet at home, i can spend some time explaining
the tiny problem i just got while doing this mod:
http://launch.ph.groups.yahoo.com/group/korgpolyex/photos/browse/52a3

as you can say, it's asked to remove the two trimmer pots and to
replace them by resistors of the very same values... my problem is
that i'm not sure about which values you're talking about, the value
written on the side of the trim pots? or the value you have to check
using a ohm-meter?
Coz the problem is here, i suck at desoldering even more than at
soldering, so i kind of "ruined" the trim pots :/

Any help would be welcomed!

thx!

my solution wouldnt apply to you cos you unfortunately ruined your
trimmer pots...

instead of using fixed 100k (for cutoff) and 10k (for reso) resistors
(these are the values of the trimmers when set to full resistance,
sorry about the terminology, not an expert here) i kept the same
trimmers and used them so i could retain the original factory sound...

i dunno at this point if its any use to go for 100k and 10 k. i
guess the sound wold be real dull. maybe olaf can shed some light on
this.

Hi,i didn't made Moog Slayer Mod,but I replaced═ trimmers on board to similar (═100k & 10k ) on front panel ,but deph of CUTOFF & RESONANCE regulation depends of═ tuning "41" & "42" parameters of POLY800. I use it & it works very good.═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════
Best regards.Alexandro.

thats what i thought indeed :/
And then, as its said "the values may be different for each poly/ex", which
is even harder to deal for me :/
