Some Poly voices missing...

Some Poly voices missing...

2005-11-02 by Dana Countryman

Hi ---

I like my Poly 800, but something strange is going on. Only about the
first 21 voices are still there. The rest have disappeared.

Sometime ago, I had the unit checked by a tech and he assured me that
the battery was just fine, and did not need to be replaced. I found
this somewhat hard to believe, since I purchased the unit new in 1986
(!)

I also had him upload all the factory voices back on, and shortly after
getting it back from him, is when I lost most of the factory presets.

Ideas, anyone??

Thanks, in advance,

 - Dana Countryman

Maybe the battery isn't that fine as it's supposed to be. The same
thing happens to me with the Poly's sequencer - it just forgets its
melodies sometimes...

Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Beloc

P.S.: Great job on your homepage - I love your music!!

I have noticed a similar problem when I connect the MIDI IN in my P800 and
start a sequencer. I'm not sure that I can only keep the first 21 voices but
is sure that the lasts voices in memory are the firts in desapear.

Regards!

Thanks! I'm working hard on a new "Moog" CD with the legendary Jean
Jacques Perrey. Should be out in the Spring....
