need classic piano soundfont for Poly800 I

need classic piano soundfont for Poly800 I

2005-09-29 by sergior66

Hi I'm writing from Italy.
I have a poly 800 mk I. As I would learn piano, is there someone who
has a classic piano soundfont for that keyboard?
Thanks Sergio

Hi,

the Poly 800 is not a very good synth to learn the piano with, since it don't
react on velocity.
Other than that, I think the 2nd sound of the presets meant to be a piano...

You will not find a piano sound that faithfully
replicates an acoustic piano on the Poly 800. Also
the 4/8 voice limit is a big limitation.

Your best bet might be a USB MIDI interface for your
PC. This will allow the Poly 800 to control the piano
sound of your PC soundcard. You will have at least 32
voices of polyphony and a consumer-grade sampled piano
that will sound adequate to most ears.

Yeah the Ploy is NOT te axe for realistic sounds, unless you want to emulate the sound of a video game! For a cheap piano sound you can get a used DX series synth. It's not graded hammer action multi-sample, but its playable.
