I am playing in a band in which the guitar players are tuning down a half-step to accomodate the singer. My other synths have tranpose buttons which the Poly 800 does not. The tuning slider on the Poly 800 does not go down a full half-step. Is there another adjustment that can be made to get the Poly down an entire half-step. Thanks in advance for any help. Joe

Possibly a "VR1" or "VR2", but as I said, I can't find a definite answer. If you search the archives for q's on poly800 mods it should come up somewhere in the discussions of the filter cutoff and res mods, people were wondering if there were more pots that could be moved to the front panel, I think there was a master tune and white noise, neither of which most people would find useful, but could probably be of interest to you. Sorry I can't be of more help (slightly hung-over!) ; ) Lee http://www.baudalign.com/poly800.html

Or you could also solder on some potentiometers (knobs) onto these pots (VR1 and VR4) so you can tune it. Just be sure to use a tuner for accuracy. This way you wont have to open up your case everytime you want to make an adjustment. lanrosta zwitter_tier <zwitter_tier@...> wrote: --- In korgpolyex@yahoogroups.com, "genesisjoe2001" <caludaj@c...> wrote: > > I am playing in a band in which the guitar players are tuning down a > half-step to accomodate the singer. > My other synths have tranpose buttons which the Poly 800 does not. > The tuning slider on the Poly 800 does not go down a full half- step. > Is there another adjustment that can be made to get the Poly down an > entire half-step. > Thanks in advance for any help. > Joe open up your poly, and on the main board, look for VR1 and VR4, two little white knobbies. run the keyboard through a tuner, and mess with those guys till you get it how you want it. i believe VR1 is coarse and VR4 is fine tune.
