sysex dump

sysex dump

2005-03-14 by bluecontrabass

So like everybody else, my poly800mkII has lost its memory. Does
anybody know how to perform a sysex dump instead of a tape dump to
get the original sounds back onto it?

High, in my opinion it`s "mission: impossible", a tape record or wav
file is the only way to put it in...

Yeah... it's not a "mission impossible." I've done it with my own
Poly 800 mk II. The first thing that you need to find is a sysex
file for the poly 800 mk ii. there's a couple floating around on the
internet somewhere. I have them, but I can't remember where I got
them from. Then you need to find a program that will transmit the
information from the file, via midi, to the poly 800. as long as you
have the midi channel (parameter 87), match the channel your program
will use, it should work no problem. I normally don't know much
about doing this kind of advanced midi stuff, but I found it pretty
easy. I was surprised how easily it worked.

If you need the .syx files or a loading program, I have them both and
could send them to your email or gmail or msn, or whatever.
