Poly 800 MIDI receive problems, help

Poly 800 MIDI receive problems, help

2005-01-02 by zwitter_tier

my setup is as follows:

midi out from soundcard to novation ks-4 in, ks-4 out to soundcard
midi in. midi thru from ks-4 to korg ms-2000 midi in. midi thru
from ms-2000 to korg poly-800 midi in. using fruityloops for midi
sequencing.

my problem is that no matter what receive channel the poly-800 is, or
what send channel fruityloops uses, the poly-800 plays all of the
notes. example: i have 3 midi out channels in fl, 1 on ch. 1, 1 on
2 and 1 on 3. poly 800 rcv is set to ch.5, yet it plays all the
notes (well, what it can handle) from channels 1,2, & 3.

is this a common problem with the poly800? can it be fixed? is
there something i am not doing correctly?

what if you remove everything and run your computer straight into the 800?

I've run into this before, I think it's a bug in the Poly's firmware.

Send a midi 'omni mode off' message to it, that seems to force my MK1 to
have properly.

That would depend on your software. I have never used Fruityloops
before, so I can't help you there.
