wanting help with filter mod

2004-08-23 by ice_squirrel_440

getting a korg poly 800 tomorrow...
fell in love with it already and dying to do a filter mod.
im just wondering if the moog slayer mod is going to rape the synth
or even my amp. it seems dangerous, yet i have been reading that the
standard mod does not have wenough control unless the digital control
for cutoff and rez is set waayyyyy up.
also finding it hard to follow schematics, which wire goes where on
the pot? i have limited electronics skills, and havent followed a
schematic in years... the specific diagram i am refering to is the
one on the moogslayer site - http://www.synthmod.net/korg/moog_slayer/
the pot has 3 terminals, which corresponds to the one on the left and
which to the right?????
sorry for the noob questions.....
any help will be highly appreciated
dont wana fuck up a wonderful synth (has reverse keys as well ;) )
cheers....
tom

Yeah, it seems a reverse keys would be worth more unmodified?
It's definitely worth not destroying, so be careful!

Any suggestions or questions?
The studio is located in Rovinj, Croatia, where this
year Creedence Clearwater Revival played on the city
fair, a few years back Gipsy kings, Valkana Beach MTV
was right there in Rovinj last summer, for instance
Marshall Jefferson performed, Naomi Campbell and David
Bowie with Imam were there last summer for their
Hollidays (not the three together, of course :), and
rumor says Madonna was there incognito 2 years ago
with Guy Ritchie in a luxurios hotel owned by two gay
guys who are really into discretion. I only don't know
how much should we be chargin' for us working on
albums or songs for other artists. I know it's not yet
an extreme professional studio (at least we lack
expensive recording microphones and preamps), but we
don't care much about that (although one day...),
because we are very much focused on the sound of the
80's, particulary synths and drummachines. The music
we make is particulary influenced by Daft Punk, but
many others too (especially artists from the 80's)...
any suggestions? :)))
