Nice work! I always love a good PWM square wave!
I have designed a CPU replacement for the Poly-800 based on the STM32 F4. I have the board designed but not built or tested yet. It will replace the HAWK kit completely.
It is not yet designed to do any tone generation. But once I get into it, I plan on replacing the MSM5232 with another STM32 F4 board as well. And that will definitely be producing sound and will have digital filters as well.
I like what you're doing and maybe you would like to do the sound board for the Poly? You obviously have the technical chops for it.

Curious if anyone else has dabbled with attempts to create a synth using a uC like STM32's.There was discussion about it many moons ago, but things got quiet about it as time went on..I just started learning how to dabble a bit with the ST micros and so far have managed to make a little noise with them:A simple Pulse Wave sound using a "BluePill".Best heard with some good bassy speakers-A early DAC Saw Wave experiement using a F407VET6..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jDU2ayUkHs&t=13s
