It sounds like maybe you used pins 6 and 7 instead of 5 and 6, or maybe you
used 5 and 6 but managed to short out 6 to 7, or something like that. Pin 7 is
the noise generator output. If you are soldering directly to the pins on the
chip, it would be easy to accidentally create a solder bridge from 6 to 7.

Hey guys,
I have a p800 mk1, my filter chip is a 2069D 4018 and not
the 2069AD 5066 as shown in the modification photo in this group. I tried
it out but it just gave me white noise. Did I miss something or does
anyone know if it works with my chip model? I can't find a
schematic.
