1) use a blanket
or towel , find a book that is thicker than the length of the joystick
2) place the Poly
front side down with the book right next to the joystick so that no weight is
bearing on the joystick
3) remove all of
the screws around the perimeter of the keyboard, note where the short screws go
and the long ones
4) remove the two screws found
roughly in the center of the bottom half of the Poly
5) open up your Poly by hinging the two
halves so that the bottom of the keyboard is lying in front of the upper
section
6) continue
working on your sense of humor

You still have to remove the key bed
machine screws, not just the screws around the perimeter, or the bottom and top
will not separate.

Open it how? In what
sequence should the screws be removed? and once open are their any wires
connecting the lid I should be aware of? How about the keys? are they in any
immediate danger once opened?
These and about a hundred other useful considerations are the type of
knowledge people don't seem too eager to share.
But hey...you had an opportunity to be oh-so-witty and glib, you must be a
killer at cocktail parties, it's a gift use it wisely...
Anyone else care to help? I've extensively modded Volcas and would be
willing to tech support any such ventures in return for a little detailed 411,
too bad I need to barter for help, but if that's the way it is around here, so
be it.
