if the sequencer sent out MIDI, but had an independant clock option, eg: if you could make it run off-midi clock, but still send out midi- and if there was an analog 'velocity amount' control, that affected the velocity values sent out, you'd have an akai me20a 'arpeggiator' on the poly800, but with patch memories. (and could add more patterns/memories?) if this had a transpose function, you could play sequences in good ole 80s transpose mode (my sh101 came with a spt switch added for the transpose, never seen this mod elsewhere) and then you could have regular 'trad' arpeggiator, or programmable, with the sequencer acting as patch memory for it, using 'replace' modes. being able to clock the arp/seq from external gate input would be very nice.(irregular/rhythmic clock trigs from a drum machine?..). and chord input could be cool too.
