Perhaps instead of the Poly800 as a keytar controller maybe buy a Korg 707 which are very cheap and have decent midi,they are FM not analogue but if you just want a midi controller you can strap on perhaps a good solution and they are a lot lighter than a poly800. Anyway you don't want to risk breaking your poly800.My 707 cost me £60 last month on ebay.
