Maybe because the MK2 has a digital delay effect they had to reduce the volume to reduce the chance of clipping? You wouldn't have this problem with the analogue chorus in the same way maybe.

Subject: [korgpolyex] Poly800 Vs Poly800MK2
Hi,
i made a A/B between my Mk2 and a friends V1 poly800, setting up the same value for all parameters, chorus/delay off, i get a very big difference of level output, my MK2 sounds a lot lower and thinner. The V1 has a filter cut off and res potard added to it, but that's the only mod i think that was done to it.
Anybody ever did a A/B on unmodified ones? do you think it's normal?
best
K
