am also curious as to how an arpeggiator works. 
i mean the type that cycles only held notes, adding 
and removing as different keys are held.

also this: how about triggered stepping of the sequencer 
via analogue trigger? think about how it works on the sh101, 
etc. it's an old/obsolete technique, but it's fun, and might 
be easy to implement.
so, it could also mean that the arp could be triggered too, 
like on the juno6.
