hey, i'm no tecchy, ut i just saw this, and it sounds like what
happened when my internal battery died: it defaults to some noise-
based setting. that means that none of the memories remain on power off,
and it lways goes back to this sound; as far as i recall.
hey, may be worth a try! in which case, you'd be advised to replace the battery setup altogether and solder in a pc motherboard battery holder, which'll work better.
it worked for me.
