1RU Rack case - Middle Atlantic Products CH 1 1 Space Chassis 10" Deep | Full Compass

I have one of these and will be making up a prototype with it.

If anyone can find a cheaper (less than 67 bucks) 1RU unit I would like to hear from them.

Mike

Hi Mike,
I've got one Poly-800 here that is total trash. Six
leaking C cells, a leaking lithium cell, not much of the silver finish left on
the case, the label around the joystick is all messed up. This is probably a
good candidate for a rack unit, assuming I can actually get the KLM-596 working
again. I've never seen a lithium cell split and leak like that. I need the keys
for a Polysix I'm working on anyway. Have you checked around to see who has
suitable rack cases?
Thanks,
Don B.

HAWK-800R PCB's have been ordered

Yesterday, I ordered ten of each of the display and keypad boards that will
be used to create a 1RU version of the Poly-800.

The boards should be
manufactured and delivered within three weeks.

I'll let you all know how
they work out when they get here.

I ordered ten straight up and that will
mean we'll have some available for the early adopters almost as soon as I get
them.

Out of interest, how many owners would be interested in converting
their Poly-800, MK1, MK2 or Ex-800 into a single 1RU unit?

The display
will be a backlit LCD. All the buttons and pots will be on the front along with
a head phone jack and power switch.

I could do the boards as a DIY kit
that you then use to create your own rack unit (you source the rack box yourself
and drill holes using a template). Or, I could do the whole rack unit as an
entire end to end solution. That would probably end up being quite
expensive.

So without worrying about that detail, how many of you would
actually like to convert your Poly into a single rack unit if you
could?

Mike.
