Preset systems usually rely on: 1) storage of parameters in digital form 2) an analog to digital converter to pull analog signals into digital form 3) a multiplexer (or two) to select analog signals that are to be sampled 4) a digital to analog converter and multiplexers to send the digital values back to the analog controls All of this assumes that each analog control is voltage based.
