Maybe there's inside some VR for setting the pitch...
I would check also power supply and measure its output voltages. I
remember when I've been using this instrument 25 years ago on
batteries during live concert with a rock band, total tuning was
changed slowly as batteries became weak, which I could compensate
with pitch pot, but it was not enough, so later I had to transpose
music... It learned me to use always new batteries and change them in
the middle of concert...
