Well, actually I have to rewrite my MIDI implementation for changing the Poly mode first.

Because I picked using MIDI CC 64 to switch the Poly into Hold mode.

That was a mistake that now needs to be rectified.

But it won't take long to fix.

cool. maybe that will even be useful to non-musicians, such as myself (i
prefer the term synthesizerist) .

i'm guessing the same functionality can be had via MIDI CC 64 (0x40)?
