Is that with the Moog Slayer or not?
Mike.

Thanks for the comments :)
That was the Moog Slayer and probably the
12dB slope filter engaged as well, I don't remember exactly since I did that a
while ago. I chose not to use the Poly's onboard chorus and added some reverb
and chorus during the mastering. I used Samplitude as host and some plugins
(Kjaerhus' Classic Reverb for some ambience and Classic Chorus for warmth and
separation, Waves MaxxBass and L2 for beefing up). I guess this could be
considered cheating, but I really doubt the Floyd ran the EMS VCS3 (a.k.a. the
Putney) directly to tape).
For some reason I tend to disguise the
sound of my Poly 800 oftentimes. One of my time-honored ways for doing so is to
disengage the chorus -- it has such a definite character that I find it
obtrusive sometimes.
I'm uploading a new MP3, this time with no
effects except for Waves L2. You can hear that, all in all, the meat of the sound is pure Poly 800
with some real-time MoogSlayer twiddling :)
When I have my Hawk kit (someday, I
promise!) I will upload syxex for the patch. In the meantime I could come up
with an Excel spreadsheet with standard Poly 800 parameters --
arghhh!
cheers
Dave
