Hey Marcin,
That was just what the doctor ordered! Thank you for going through
the extra effort to upload this manual. This shows me a whole lot
more than the first edition manual. The midi spec is much more
complete. I'll try when I get time to crunch this file down to a more
manageable size and post it here.
I've got everything back together and working as it should. The dead
keys had dried out moth larvae under the rubber pads. So I would
guess this was stored for a while in someone's closet. I still have
one busted key but I sould be able to get that from synthparts.com.
The key action is clean and precise now that everything is cleaned up
and lubed properly.
I figured out the midi CC chatter. Cleaning the joystick didn't make
any difference but when I turn on the Program Write Enable switch all
the chatter goes away. Maybe Korg was using this chatter for a midi
heartbeat. Any ideas???
So now I've begun writing patches from front panel of this Poly since
Midiquest told me they only wrote a Librarian not an Editor for this
synth. I can't even store the individual patches in a Library or swap
them around in a bank in Midiquest. So every bit of work must be
saved in a bank. Even if I only worked on one patch. Geeeeez Guuuuys!
Some librarian! The Poly-800 Mark II manual shows in detail the
structure of the patch dumps so maybe I can figure out how to move
the patches around manually in hex. More fun!
Thanks for all the help, Narfman
