Yup! That's an easy one, all you have to do is add a DPDT switch to either use the factory 
trimpot resistance or the custom resistance that you set with your surface-mounted 
potentiometer. In fact, this way you could even switch back and forth "on the fly" while you're 
playing for interesting effects.

I haven't done this to the P800, but I've done similar mods to other things that use this 
bypass switch technique and it works very well.
