I think he (Jamie Fonti, well-respected muso and producer) used it purely as a MIDI keyboard to play a rack-mount sampler - guess he didn't need velocity (don't get me wrong when I say "samples" though, they were mainly instrument samples for actual "playing", not a "hold down the sample key" type thing...) Come to think of it, I think this was the catalyst for me wanting to get a poly again. Took me a couple of years to track one down for the right price though...
