a friend just picked up a reverse key poly 800. it was old and dirty
and had key contact problems. after he took it apart, cleaned it, and
put it back together with a set of fresh batteries, he discovered that
many of the patches had parameter values other than what were supposed
to be there. he is able to edit freely but once he brings a value back
into normal range, he can't return to the twilight zone. however, if
the memory location is reset without being overwritten, the hidden
values are restored. in other words, these parameters are saved in
memory. so, he's been programming in some great aleatoric
textures. i've got an ex800 and would like to access these parameters,
but i think i would likely have to de-and-resolder the internal
battery, or....what? has anyone here been able to access these
parameters, other than via the moogslayer mod? it's not only the
resonance and cutoff values that are affected, he can access higher
octaves and other stuff.
