I sat in with a band and had the same problem, not being able to tune down to the guitars. My quick and dirty solution was to play all the songs transposed half a step, which meant my actual chords/notes played were different from what everybody else played. It was a hassle but it worked. I had no manual for my EX-800 and hadn't found this user's group yet. I'm curious to see what others will come up with.
