Slayer Mod,, No Patch Save??

2005-01-14 by imperial_tee

Hello All,

As you might have read I was overjoyed with the moog slayer mod I added to my EX
-800. It sounds wonderful but I think there might be a problem. After I did the mod I
noticed that all of the patches seemed to be wiped, with the attack settings on each
patch reset to 31. Now I can program and save patches but when I power off the unit,
the patches are lost.

I never saved any patches before I did the mod so I'm not sure If the problem was
there before I did the mod, but I do know that the attack settings were not all at 31.
My first thought would be that the battery is dead. Is there only one main battery to
switch? I posted a photo of what I think is the main battery. It looks kind of shoddy
the way its soldered on there, is that stock or did someone add that in after?

I searched in the achieves and found a fellow with the sort of similar problems
(kp8002000) but I don't think he ever got it sorted out. He mentioned he replaced the
battery to no avail.

I'm trying to get the information correct before I open the unit up again. (I used 16
gauge car wiring for the mod, not the best choice, so its hard to open and close the
box with all the heavy wire everywhere)

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated,

Tom
