After all this time, I thought this group was dead!
I'd be curious what kind of help you're offering. I have 2 K4 synths, one is for parts. I'm always on the hunt for new and/or custom sound patches as well as pieces and parts.

Hello
it is miraculous to see a non spam post
I have a k4 keyboard and a k4r module. I think i have sort of homegrown best of patch
compilations from the available sources on them using a card with the same on both.
I love it.
Recently i have had the keyboard in action using a behringer x touch mini via a usb to midi
box making chord drones as you can set each pad to hold a different note so you can build up
permanently playing chord variations.
It worked very well with the paddy vangelis type sounds. It does not work at all of course
on something more abrupt and percussive.
btw i also found a custom patch for editing it using an old philip rees slider box but given
the limited brain in these sorts of things very fast real time control is not on

Hi Sam,

Would it be a good idea to share your custom patches in the group?

Is it just my K4r, or do anyone else have their module spitting out random midi "jitter/flicker" from the MIDI Out? Even when its not in use?
It's actually a problem for me, so i'm looking into fixing it. Perhaps by some kind of decoupling filter or something..

Hello
sorry i did not make myself clear. I have not made custom patches for my K4
i only made a compilation of ones which already exist of my own choosing.
Fwis since the K1 got mentioned i might add that i onw a rack one of those
and also the desktop slab version which I had circuit bent.
Partly i have two as with the same patches in both as the non
bent one gives you a dry version of the bent sound.
In honour of this i bought one of those custom controller boxes
with the firware for k1 in it.

What's it actually sending?

The K4's send active sensing to the midi out. On page 95 of the manual it shows it in the midi implementation chart. However it does not show there is a way to shut it off??? Maybe try shutting off system exclusive or another setting to see if it stops. If it's not active sensing use midi-ox or a similar program and see if it is another type of message. The K4r should not be sending false pitch bend or mod wheel messages since it doesn't have the keyboard like the K4. There isn't any midi clock shown either.

It was indeed Active Sensing! Cant seem to turn it off tough. I'll see if i can filter it out somehow.
